Mark King

Mark King, a seasoned pharmacist with deep roots in the Abernathy community, brings a wealth of experience to his role at Abernathy Drug and Mercantile. With a career spanning over three decades, Mark's journey in pharmacy began with a firm educational foundation.

In 1989, Mark earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Following his graduation, he embarked on his professional career at Furr's Pharmacy in Amarillo.

In 1997, Mark made a pivotal decision to invest in Abernathy's healthcare landscape by purchasing Pinson Pharmacy, a move that would shape his legacy in the community. For 26 years, he dedicated himself to the operation of King Pharmacy.

Following a distinguished and fulfilling career, Mark chose to sell his pharmacy and scale back his working hours. Abernathy Drug and Mercantile is thrilled to have Mark join the team, where he will be on hand to provide part-time assistance. His presence guarantees that customers will continue to encounter a familiar face—one that has served our community faithfully for numerous years, offering a sense of reassurance and continuity.
